E. S. P. Or Electro Static Precipitator:
Electrostatic air filtration is another name for the electrostatic precipitator (ESP). ESPs are efficient cleaning devices that offer less restriction to air flow than HEPA filters. They can remove fine particulates to .01 micron when properly maintained.
Electro-static filtration is common in industrial particulate emissions applications. Its adaptation to hospital air cleaning has been widely preferred. An ESP charges the air in it with a very powerful electric field, creating ionized particles. Oppositely charged metal collector plates, often made of stainless steel, attract and collect most of the particles in the air stream. As the heart of BGM Air Steriliser, E. S. P. is made up of 7 pairs of plates (14 plates) one of which is held at a very high voltage and the other one are kept at zero volts. Thus a very heavy electro-static force is generated. When air passes through E. S. P. (1) The particle gets charged and attracted towards the zero plate. They are precipitated there. (2) When micro-organism enter this region they are attracted on the zero plate and electrocuted with a very high voltage. (3) When CO2 (in air) come in this region due to high electro-static force carbon is split from oxygen and deposited on the zero plate and oxygen is released free. Thus enriching the air with more Oxygen.
Ultra-violet light:
It occurs naturally in sunlight and may be divided into three bands, A, B and C. Of these, UV-C is the shortest and most powerful. At the specific wavelength of 257.3nm (2573 angstrom) it is proven to be deadly to viruses, bacteria and moulds.
This occurs when the UV-C light penetrates the nucleus, disrupting the DNA so that cell reproduction cannot take place, killing the organism.
BGM Air Steriliser exposes air passing through the unit’s chamber to an intense amount of UV energy ( 23,868 mw.sec/cm2 ) capable of eradicating even the most resistant micro-organisms.
Two UV-C tubes arranged in a mathematically designed reflective chamber, controlled airspeed and lengthwise flow of air in close proximity to the tubes, provide maximum killing power even for the toughest bacteria, germs, spores and moulds.

Efficacy – Microbiology:
BGM Air Steriliser has been exhaustively tested under field and laboratory conditions. A range of trials performed by accredited laboratory – employed a number of different test protocols to measure the machine’s efficacy. Useful Information regarding BGM Air Steriliser
Conventional and cheaper sterilization techniques like fumigation are inefficient in handling sterility of air, which is the most important aspect. Most of the cross-infection occurs through air as all microorganisms travel through air borne particles. Fumigation technique has a very momentary effect as far as sterilization of air is concerned.

BGM Air Steriliser removes all the limitation and bearers of the existing system. It is particularly very helpful for Critical Care Centers, as this place cannot be sterilized using conventional techniques. ICUs are the most infestations place in the hospitals. System functioning:
BGM Air Steriliser should be mounted 5 feet above the ground level on a wall vertically. The lower grill should be focusing towards the operation Table. Positioning of BGM Air Steriliser should be the closest possible area near the operation region.
After switching on, BGM Air Steriliser start sucking in the air from the top perforated area at a speed of 160 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) or more and that air is processed through the 5 stage of filtration. Air that comes out thus free from all microorganisms, particles and moisture. At the output of BGM Air Steriliser air is 100 % sterilized.
Working of each Filter:
1. Pre Filter: It is a 5-micron filter to trap bigger size particles mainly dust. This filter stops dust particles from entering the machine.
2. E. S. P. Or Electro Static Precipitator: This is the heart of BGM Air Steriliser. E. S. P. Is made up of 7 pairs of plates (14 plates) one of which is held at a very high voltage and the other one are kept at zero volts. Thus a very heavy electro-static force is generated. When air passes through E. S. P. (1) The particle gets charged and attracted towards the zero plate. They are precipitated there. (2) When micro-organism enter this region they are attracted on the zero plate and electrocuted with a very high voltage. (3) When CO2 (in air) come in this region due to high electro-static force carbon is split from oxygen and deposited on the zero plate and oxygen is released free. Thus enriching the air with more Oxygen.
3. Ultra-Violet Tubes: There are two germicidal grade (2565 nanometer) Ultra Violet Tubes in BGM Air Steriliser. These U. V. Tubes kill all the microorganisms. It also ensures the inside of BGM Air Steriliser remains sterile all the time. U. V. Radiation is completely sealed inside BGM Air Steriliser. No radiation comes out of the machine.
4. Activated Carbon-filter: In the first three filters, air is made completely sterile. Activated carbon is a very good absorbent of the moisture. It absorbs moisture reducing the amount of fungus. It also removes foul smell, bad-odour from the air, making a pleasant atmosphere.
5. HEPA or High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance Filter: This is a 0.3-micron filter. It is very efficient filter in trapping smallest of microorganisms. There are no microorganisms smaller than 0.5-micron size.
6. Air Charger: This part of the system generates Negative Ions and charges the air with the same, creating more effective and beneficial working atmosphere.
